Are you a scientist or engineer who is passionate about working in the micro- and nano-technology market segment? If so, we have an exciting position available for you as a Laser Lithography Process and Application Engineer! In this role, you will be at the intersection of application development, sales, and marketing where you will be focused on customer-based applications. Your main responsibilities will include producing specific micro-structures using our advanced direct write laser lithography systems. Additionally, you will conduct product demonstrations for potential customers to showcase the unique capabilities of our lithography techniques. As an expert in laser lithography, you will be responsible for providing training to customers and colleagues, sharing both your knowledge and your expertise with the scientific community.

The place of work will be Georgia, Atlanta.
Your mission
  • Preparation and processing of substrates
  • Creation of patterns via a CAD software
  • Optimization of exposure and process parameters 
  • Inspection and evaluation of exposure results 
  • Documentation of exposure parameters, process parameters, and exposure results 
  • Generation of benchmark reports for potential customers 
  • Communication with sales staff, sales representatives, and customers via email, phone, and online meetings 
  • Providing professional customer service during on-site visits and demonstrations 
  • Providing live system demonstrations for potential customers 
  • Providing system trainings for customers, sales representatives, and colleagues 
  • Providing expertise and support for colleagues and customers regarding photoresist processes 
  • Ensuring the functionality and quality of the demo systems 
  • Preparing application notes, including performing the required exposures 
  • Collaborate with colleagues and other researchers at Georgia Tech on joint scientific publications 
  • Attending scientific conferences and workshops at Georgia Tech and other customer locations throughout the US 
  • Providing presentations at conferences, workshops, and customer sites throughout the US 
  • Providing application support and development, both near Georgia Tech and at other institutes throughout the US 
  • Host seminars both on campus at Georgia Tech and other customer sites throughout the US
Your profile
  • Degree in Engineering / other natural sciences or equivalent professional work experience
  • Preferred 2+ years of experience in a technical position or as a user of Heidelberg Instruments systems
  • Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to effectively convey highly technical information in an understandable and concise manner
  • Organizational skills with the ability to work both independently and on a team, prioritize tasks, and meet both internal and external deadlines
  • Ability to travel to conferences and customer sites, concentrated regionally across the US (up to 20% travel), as well as occasional travel to our headquarters in Germany for training purposes
  • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written
